Indian Lake Trails

John and Mary Rudolph Nature Area

provides over 50 acres to be used for various activities. This are is located of Lincoln BLVD in Russells Point. There are wetlands, prairies and trails. The trails are mostly covered with small gravel which makes for easy biking, walking or running.  The Great Miami river is also accessible for fishing.  Lots of wildlife inhabit the area and you may see signs of several of them. The trail is approximately 2 miles long. Part of the trail accesses the Old Railroad Trail which provides shade during the hot summer days. This trail provides plenty of opportunities to experience nature.

Pew Island Trail

is approximately .85 mile loop. This trail encircles the entire island.  It is an easy walk with a portion of trail having walkers traveling over a wooden walkway.  There are many species of birds and flowers on the island.  You will see quite spectacular views of the lake from the island.

Cherokee Trail

is 1.4 miles of easy walking. This trail begins at the Indian Lake State Park and continues across Cherokee Drive and through bushy habitat and woods. I have seen many forms of wildlife while walking this trail.  Adults and children would enjoy this trail.

Bike Trail

is a 3.5 mile paved multi-use trail located along the lake from Old Field Beach to Lakeview Harbor. The trail is used by bikers, walkers, skaters and runners.  Beautiful sunrises and sunsets can be seen along this trail.  This trail is also a beautiful full moon walk.
